Client’s Objective: Creating a stunning dining space, ideal for hosting parties and giving guests the ‘wow factor’.

The Interior Design Challenge:

The location of this dining room is in an absolutely stunning home, with a breath taking approach to the property, it was important that the dining room design did the stature of this house justice. Before the design, the space was quite plain and a standard rectangular form – taking this ‘standard’ shape and reimagining it was the biggest challenge of this project.

My Interior Design Approach:

It is not uncommon to see large rectangular rooms used as a dining room or lounge so I started off by ‘mapping’ the space and understanding how it could be used

Transforming a Blank Canvas Bedroom into Luxurious and Elegant Escape

Location: Odiham

Room Design: Guest Bedroom and En-Suite

Client’s Objective: Creating a luxurious and sophisticated bedroom and en-suite space for guests within a contemporary design style.

The Interior Design Challenge:

The main challenge with this space was utilising the space in an effective way to create real impact. There wasn’t lots of space to manipulate so careful consideration needed to be made as to how we could make the somewhat limited space, feel grand.

My Interior Design Approach:

As well as standard practices that I use, one unique change we made to this space was to change the perimeter wall of the en-suite. We adapted this by ‘cutting off’ the corner and placing the wall on an angle to make a softer look within the room.

The Interior Design Execution:

To achieve luxury and elegance, we needed to think grand. This comes from the size and material (velvet) of the headboard, and the frequent use of brass tones to help elevate the design. The symmetry of the mirrors either side of the bed, alongside the large artwork and statement lighting meant this space oozed hotel glamour.

Design Outcome:

The outcome of this bedroom space aligned perfectly with the client brief. Transforming a plain magnolia bedroom into a stunning haven, ideal for any guest (and perfectly great as a Master Bedroom too!). Layering opulent materials and tones for a successful design.

My main challenge was infusing a sense of identity into a recently built space. Newly built or renovated properties often lack the inherent charm of older residences. My challenge was seamlessly integrating a new design into the client's lounge.

My Interior Design Approach:

After a thorough consultation with the client, I had a thorough grasp of their objectives. I was then able to provide some renders to help the client to reimagine their lounge. After consulting the client and re-evaluating the initial design, we rearranged the furniture for improved functionality and visual appeal.

To create the desired warmth and personality, we curated a design scheme centred around textures with a harmonious colour palette comprising subdued neutral shades. These formed the foundation of the palette, cultivating an atmosphere of serenity and comfort. Mackenzie Paige Interiors - Interior Design For Shops and Retail Outlets

One thing I love about running MacKenzie Paige Interiors is working with all kinds of clients. Some clients know exactly what they want, others need some guidance, and then some want ‘a change’!

Some clients want to revamp a single room in their family home. Others want a complete makeover of a new property. Then there are our commercial customers who need help translating their company culture into the design of their premises.

It is these clients that often prove the greatest challenges.

Regardless of the client, I always approach each project with the same determination and enthusiasm to ensure that the client realises the space they were looking for (and one they can be proud of).

One recent example of this is the Ruby La La Store.

The client

Ruby La La is a store that had originally been based in one unit in Farnham, Surrey. However, they decided the time had come to start a new era for their brand, which meant a new shop floor that reflected their company persona.

So, when they moved into a new unit in Farnham, they knew that they would need help to create a space that would be inviting and that their customers would enjoy visiting,

The space

When the client first got their keys, the unit they were moving into was a completely blank canvas (This is one of the best kinds of environment to work with).

The floors were concrete, there was no lighting, and the beams were painted grey. All in all, it was a very severe and stark space!

However, whilst I could immediately see the potential of the new premises, it was very far from the luxurious and friendly shopping experience that the client wanted.

The interior design projec t

Ruby La La has a definite focus on its customer experience. They want to ensure that when their customers shop with them, they not only come away with great products but also have a fantastic experience. Going the extra mile is standard for Ruby La La, so I knew that I had to deliver something extra special with the design of their new store.

The main challenge I faced during the project was to work out the best layout for the store and ensure that the space was used to the best effect.

It needed to work for maximum merchandising and provide the fantastic customer experience that Ruby La La wanted to achieve. This can be a difficult balance to achieve, but it can be done.

The results

With this client, we decided to work with soft neutral and warming tones for the walls. This gave me a fantastic rich base to work with for the rest of the design.

On top of this neutral base, we then accented it with beautiful gold tones, which came together to create a welcoming space that gave a sense of luxury and elegance.

The client was also incredibly grateful for the seating area for their customers, which encourages a longer, more leisurely shopping experience due to the relaxed and unhurried environment.

Family Lounge Interior Design Project in Odiham, Hampshire

When I started Mackenzie Paige Interiors, my mission was to bring great interior design that is affordable, achievable and suitable for everyday life.

A recent client that we worked with, Odiham Hampshire, is a perfect example of this.

The customer

This customer contacted us because they needed help redesigning this much-used family lounge in a new property they were relocating to in Odiham.

Their aim with the property, particularly the lounge, was to create an interior that reflected the natural beauty of the countryside outside.

Before our makeover, the space that they had was plain, simple and functional. Because of this, the customer felt it needed a redesign to convert it into an area where the whole family could enjoy and relax.

The Interior Design Challenges

I was incredibly excited to take on this project. However, I soon realised that the space connected the house’s kitchen and dining area. This created a more open “U” shaped flow throughout the rooms. Whilst this made it a bright space ideal for our designs, it did mean that anything we put in place had to flow with the other rooms and create a cohesive look.

The Results

In conjunction with the customer, I chose soft green and blue tones for the living room. This connected the lounge to the outdoor space and created a beautiful and relaxing space that the whole family would enjoy. I wanted the living area to be as calm and welcoming as possible. The soft blue and green tones achieved this effortlessly. I then added soft pinks and bolder teals, which give it a richness that adds a luxury feel to the overall look.

This was combined with the warm, soft lighting that floods into the home, further enhancing the lounge area’s relaxing and luxurious feel.

We can see why it is just the perfect social space.

Not only can the living area be used for entertaining guests, but thanks to the viewpoint of creating a homely space, it is also ideal for simply settling down after a busy day and watching the TV as a family.

The Interior Design Project

I was recently contacted by a customer in Four Marks, Hampshire who were getting tired of the design of their bedroom suite and wanted help to transform this stunning character property into their dreamy hotel luxe aesthetic.

Hotel Luxe Aesthetic Design

Hotel luxe aesthetic styling, which is also known as luxury hotel aesthetic, refers to the style and design elements commonly found in high-end hotels. This aesthetic emphasises opulence, elegance, and sophistication, often incorporating luxurious materials such as marble, velvet, and gold accents.

Common features of the hotel luxe aesthetic include plush furnishings such as tufted sofas and oversized chairs, statement lighting fixtures such as chandeliers or sconces, and carefully curated artwork and accessories.

Colour schemes tend to be neutral, with a focus on shades of beige, grey, and white, although splashes of colour may be used in small doses. Overall, the hotel luxe aesthetic creates a sense of indulgence and relaxation, inviting guests to feel pampered and surrounded by beauty and comfort.

Many people are drawn to the hotel luxe aesthetic because it evokes a sense of luxury and sophistication. The opulent materials and elegant furnishings, create an atmosphere of indulgence and relaxation. Additionally, the neutral colour palette and clean lines create a sense of calm and tranquillity, making it a popular choice for those seeking a peaceful and refined home environment.

The Interior Design Challenges

One of the biggest challenges with this project was the size of the room, and efficient use of the large space was crucial. So I started by working on designing the best layout and schematics possible. The client decided to transform the room, creating a stunning walk-in wardrobe space that provided ample storage while also adding to the luxurious look of the room. Additionally, they increased the width of the corridor leading to the room, creating a more spacious and open feel.

To achieve the desired hotel luxe aesthetic, we utilised soft, warm greige woods, gold accents, and luxurious, sumptuous materials. The finished product was a beautiful space that the client loved, calling it a joy to be involved in.

Our expertise and creativity were essential in overcoming the challenges presented by the room's size and creating a Master Suite that perfectly embodied the client's vision. Out attention to detail and the commitment to providing a luxurious, functional, and beautiful space resulted in a successful project that left the client thrilled with the outcome.

Living Space Interior Design Project in Alresford, Hampshire.

Client Background:

Location: Arlesford

Room Design: Living Space

Client’s Objective: Post extension, my client wanted to make a ‘wow factor’ room which could be used day to day, but also to host parties!

The Interior Design Challenge:

The clients were unsure of what to do with the space, but knew they wanted something which could have a disco ball, dancing pole and be the ideal party hang out… as well as a living space within their home. These somewhat conflicting themes could be seen as a challenge to marry up.

My Interior Design Approach:

The concept was ‘art gallery’ vibes, using a neutral backdrop, and really allowing the architecture and carefully selected pieces to shine.

The Interior Design Execution:

Using bright coloured sofas, alongside fun statement cushions, and combining these with wooden furniture, we created a bold quirky scheme, but one which was still grounded by the wooden accents.

I also helped my client with the exterior of this space, as the inside and outside were so closely linked together. They knew they wanted a cassette fireplace, allowing the two spaces to feel connected. To further this, we utilised wooden cladding on the fireplace breast to echo that of the ceiling outside, as well as clean, minimalist furniture, again really allowing the grand architecture to sing.

Design Outcome and Client Response:

My clients were so delighted with this impressive space that they used Mackenzie Paige Interiors to design the rest of the rooms in their home too! I am also told that some very successful parties have now been had here!

Hamptons Lounge Interior Design Project In Fleet, Hampshire

A lot of people these days are asking for guidance on how to give their new build homes character, and that was the brief for this specific project.

My client wanted influences of Hamptons design. Hamptons originated from Long Island, America and endeavours to create a space which is open, bright and breezy with classic proportions, and natural materials.

When working with a concept such as this, it’s important to research the types of materials used in that particular concept. We’ve used navy colourings here with natural woods, rope, a jute carpet and paired these with lantern lighting and gold and silver metallic detailing for
some heightened luxury.

The end product is one which is calming, fresh and airy with the subtle blue details anchoring the scheme.

Garden Cabin Interior Design Project in Fleet, Hampshire.

Client Background:

Location: Fleet

Room Design: Lounge

Client’s Objective: To take the blank shell of the newly built cabin and configure a space fit for entertaining, which can also be used to host guests too.

The Interior Design Challenge:

My clients had conflicting views on how best to design the space, bearing in mind they both have very different tastes. We also had the challenge of this needing to be a multi-purpose space, to contend with. The space needed to be suitable for occasional working from home, entertaining guests, a space for guests to sleep as well as a snug, away from the main house.

My Interior Design Approach:

My approach for this space was to carefully consider the spatial layout of the space. Multi-purpose rooms are sometimes more difficult to work through as we have different pieces of furniture to fit in the space. It is easy for a space like this to not work aesthetically due to the varying furniture types that may be implemented; creating sometimes, a cheaper aesthetic.

The Interior Design Execution:

We worked to create a bold, and inviting space. Using wooden cladding to mirror the garden outside, and the superb colour of ‘Inchyra Blue’ from Farrow & Ball for a feature colour, creating a ‘hug’ like feeling around the corner sofa.

This was balanced with the use of ‘Ammonite’, also by Farrow & Ball on the remaining walls.

With stunning feature desk created by Sisters Create UK ( https://www.sisterscreateuk.com ), large pool table, and neat kitchenette, this space truly became somewhere for all the family to work, entertain and relax.

We also had the pleasure of helping dress this space with all our fantastic accessories, this really helped it come to life… and what a space!

Design Outcome and Client Response:

A couple of years on, I am told my clients still love their room and use it daily. With their daughter even sometimes staying in the cabin more often than staying in the same room!

Contemporary Lounge Interior Design Project In Fleet, Hampshire

Client’s Objective: Adding character and impact to a new build house.

The Interior Design Challenge:

This project started as a white shell for my clients. Again a new build house which was crying out for some personality. Having met my clients and seeing the rest of their house, I knew they were wanting a contemporary scheme with some more natural details added to it too. We worked to create a striking and luxurious lounge but one which was still welcoming and inviting.

My Interior Design Approach:

My approach for this space was to use bold colours to create impact, and contrast this with bolder natural elements too such as the wooden cladding and feature floor lamps.

The Interior Design Execution:

Using a navy colour palette which balanced the white walls and a wooden cladded feature to create a focal point in the space we made a striking contemporary living space. The wooden cladding picked up on the wooden side tables, and the nature theme was only enhanced further through the inclusion of the large plants and bamboo floor lights. The juxtaposition between deluxe detailing such as the gold ceiling lights, contemporary shaped sofa, gold detailed cushions and formal layout with the much more grounded and natural elements mentioned above, work beautifully to establish a very ‘design conscious’ but still welcoming lounge.

Design Outcome and Client Response:

My clients are delighted with their new lounge space. It created a really beautiful and striking space which exuded a sharp contemporary aesthetic.

1920s Lounge Interior Design Project In Fleet, Hampshire

Client Background:

Location: Fleet

Room Design: Lounge

Client’s Objective: Changing a ‘student digs’ lounge into a classy and elegant retreat.

The Interior Design Challenge:

The main challenge with this design was creating an impactful 1920s inspired design, without falling in the trap of being too cliché. With any specifically inspired room, we have to be careful to not make the design too obviously ‘themed’, as this will cheapen the aesthetic.

My Interior Design Approach:

Due to the above, I wanted to make sure my recommendations were based on more classy and subtle 1920s inspired elements rather than anything too obvious.

The Interior Design Execution:

Careful consideration was made into the specific choices for this space. This included a subtle geometric wallpaper for the back wall, intricately designed mirrors, carefully selected art which has subjects reminiscent of the 1920s era, feathered floor lamps and more. These pieces were juxtaposed with more contemporary elements such as the sofa too, to make a really successful design scheme.

Design Outcome and Client Response:

My clients fell in love with their new lounge. It was truly transformed from a bland space with miss match furniture, into a dreamy elegant haven.
